BM Appachu was born on 17-11-1936 in Balamuri, Kodagu. Along with his parents, he was raised in his childhood by his uncle Achaiah who was a scholar who told him numerous stories and legends about Balamuri and Kodagu that he is now teaching his grandchildren.
BM Appachu is the last living member from pre-independence India in the line of Bollachettira family to know about history of Bollachettira family ancestors and explain it to us in English, we are attempting to document all his valuable knowledge. He has already created the Bollachettira family tree.
